ADVICE ON TIMING BELTS
Replacement Timing Belts
A Timing belt also known as a cam belt, is a rubber belt that transfers drive from the crankshaft onto the camshaft resulting in the engine valves opening and closing at the correct time to ensure maximum performance.
Unfortunately a timing belt can fail without warning, potentially causing very serious damage to your engine The only protection is to change the belt at recommended intervals every 5 years or 72,000 to 99,000 miles (depending on your model)
